Pack Info
"When will we Rage? NOW!!! When will we stop? NEVER!!!"
Pack Totem:
The wolverine, master of rage...his anger and drive to fight the wyrm knows no bounds. His followers are typically highly aggressive and accomplished warriors. As a pack totem, he frequently patrons war packs leaving the other totems to support his followers.....Some packs that follow the Wolverine are designated as "War Spear" which are the premiere packs under the Wolverine totem. Often such packs recieve special aid and are watched more closely by the Wolverine.
Pack rites:
These are special rites that are performed by the NLS, they are specific to the Wolverine totem. They are NEVER taught to anyone outside the NLS. Currently the beta performs all pack rituals.
The Rite of Fury:
The rite of fury is often done before attacking a hive or den of a wyrm creature or a raid of similar type. The pack gathers together and gives homage to the Wolverine..usually getting rowdy and psyching themselves up for the event. Each member dedicates one rage during this rite as they prepare to go into battle. If the wolverine accepts the rite, all members will get ONE extra dice of damage on all attacks they do for the initial encounter with a Wyrm creature, representing their near frenzied state.
The Rite of Malfeas Revealed: (Initiation Rite)
This is the rite ALL NLS are required to go through....where the Wolverine manifests physicaly to view the potential member and question him or her often berating them...antagonizing them....and at the moment he deems necessary, he stabs them with his War Spear and reveals the horrors of Malfeas and incites them to rage eternal granting them his blessing of +1 Stamina, and +1 Rage(add to permanent base). This bonus ends if the member ever leaves the NLS. In fact they incur the displeasure of the Wolverine.
The Rite for the Fallen:
This is a rite that the NLS does to honur their dead...usually by burning personal items of the dead pack mate covered with the blood and a weapon from each of the other packmates . Usually bouts of drinking,loud music and rowdiness accompany this rite. It is rumored that the members spirit is bound as a Jaggling serving the Wolverine helping to continue the fight in the afterworld.
The Rite of Removing the Coward:
Nothing spiritual about this rite. The receipient does not usually know its coming and it consists of a straight beatdown till unconciousness, urinated on and being thrown into a dumpster, garbage dump or some other unsavoury place. It is a vicious act to behold and often done away from the caern. If serious enough, the Wolverine has been know to appear and strip the coward of all rage and it is said at times ordering the coward to be killed.
Pack Fetishes:
Currently the NLS possess two pack fetishes. The benefits of these fetishes apply only to the pack. It is part of the benefit of being a War Spear pack of the Wolverine.
Talisman of NightDancer
A talisman of an Uktena Ahroun The Grey NightDancer (and our beta's mentor) who was a faithful follower of the Wolverine. It helps the chances of the Wolverine to heed the call of the pack as well as making a Gauntlet roll easier(difficulty reduced by 1)
Battle Standard
A recent gift from an unknown benefactor, the battle standard has proven useful already. It tunes itself to the "standard bearer" Only when the bearer holds it does its ability come to pass.
Resist pain (40ft diameter)
All Rage rolls difficulty reduced by one (40ft radius)
All Willpower roll difficulty reduced by one (40ft radius)
The standard bearer (if holding the standard) also may either: (1 time per phase of the moon)
#1 Take one additional action
#2 Heal one additional wound level
Note: The latter two powers were discovered during the NLS run in with the former Pentex team 291.
